Tokaido Shinkansen (Tokyo-Osaka) launches semi-private booth seats.

3. GRAN TENKU TRAIN - JOURNEY TO KOYASAN (APRIL 24, 2026)

Nankai Electric Railway's New Sightseeing Train:

Launch date: April 24, 2026.
Route: Osaka Namba → Gokurakubashi (gateway to Mount Koya).
4 luxury sightseeing carriages.
Replaces the existing "Tenku" service.

4. HELLO KITTY SHINKANSEN RETIRES (Spring 2026)

After 8 years of service, the beloved Hello Kitty Shinkansen is retiring.
Operated on the Sanyo Shinkansen line (Shin-Osaka → Hakata).

5. FREE SHINKANSEN IN KYUSHU (Feb 2026)

Kagoshima Prefecture offering free one-way Shinkansen tickets to foreign tourists.
