Casual spoken form of "だが" or "けれども". Used to connect two contrasting or supplementary sentences.
📚Examples
ずっと前からライブに行きたいんだけど、どうしてもその日は外せない時間がない。
Zutto mae kara raibu ni ikitain dakedo, doushitemo sono hi wa hazusenai jikan ga nai.
I've wanted to go to the concert for a long time, but I absolutely can't make it that day as I have no time.
評判のレストランで料理はとても美味しいんだけど、学生の私にはちょっと高い。
Hyouban no resutoran de ryouri wa totemo oishii n dakedo, gakusei no watashi ni wa chotto takai.
The food at this popular restaurant is very delicious, but it's a bit expensive for me as a student.
確かに一度、彼の名前を聞いて知ってるんだけど、今はどうしても思い出せなくて忘れちゃった。
Tashika ni ichido, kare no namae wo kiite shitteru n dakedo, ima wa doushitemo omoidasenakute wasurechatta.
