Verb (plain form) + ことになる💡Usage
Expresses a decision or situation determined by others or circumstances, not by the speaker's will.
📚Examples
会社の方針で、来月から東京本社で働くことになった。
Kaisha no houshin de, raigetsu kara toukyou honsha de hataraku koto ni natta.
Due to company policy, I will be working at the Tokyo headquarters starting next month.
台風の影響で、明日の会議は中止になることになった。
Taifuu no eikyou de, ashita no kaigi wa chuushi ni naru koto ni natta.
Due to the typhoon, tomorrow's meeting will be canceled.
両親の賛成を得て、来年の春に彼と結婚することになりました。
Ryoushin no sansei wo ete, rainen no haru ni kare to kekkon suru koto ni narimashita.
With my parents' approval, I will be getting married to him next spring.
