Learn about purpose structures (You ni), expressing changes in state (You ni narimasu), and habits/efforts (You ni shimasu).

V-ru (không ý chí/khả năng) / V-nai + ように

💡 Usage

Expresses the purpose of an action. Unlike 'Tameni' (used with intentional verbs), 'You ni' is used with potential form verbs or intransitive verbs (lacking direct human intention).

📚 Examples

はやおよげるように、毎日まいにち練習れんしゅうしています。

Hayaku oyogeru you ni, mainichi renshuu shite imasu.

I practice every day so that I can swim fast.

わすれないように、メモしておきます。

Wasurenai you ni, memo shite okimasu.

I'll make a note so that I don't forget.

日本にほん新聞しんぶんめるように、漢字かんじ勉強べんきょうします。

Nihon no shinbun ga yomeru you ni, kanji o benkyou shimasu.

So that I can read Japanese newspapers, I study Kanji.

病気びょうきにならないように、をつけています。

Byouki ni naranai you ni, ki o tsukete imasu.

I am careful so that I don't get sick.
