Used to relay information heard without much certainty.
📚Examples
田中さん、結婚するとか。本当かな。
Tanaka-san, kekkon suru toka. Hontou kana.
I heard Mr. Tanaka is getting married. I wonder if it's true.
明日の会議は中止になったとか。
Ashita no kaigi wa chuushi ni natta toka.
I heard tomorrow's meeting was cancelled.
彼は有名なお金持ちだとか。
Kare wa yuumei na okanemochi da toka.
Rumor has it he is a famous wealthy man.
あの店、もうすぐ閉店するとか。残念だね。
