とっくに + V-ta / V-te iru / N + だ💡Usage
Used to emphasize that something happened or was completed a long time ago compared to the present or the intended time.
📚Examples
宿題？とっくに終わったよ。
Shukudai? Tokku ni owatta yo.
Homework? I finished it long ago.
彼はとっくに出発しましたよ。
Kare wa tokku ni shuppatsu shimashita yo.
He left a long time ago.
そんなこと、とっくに知っている。
Sonna koto, tokku ni shitte iru.
I've known that for a long time.
締め切りはとっくに過ぎている。
Shimequiri wa tokku ni sugite iru.
The deadline has long since passed.
バスはとっくに行ってしまった。
Basu wa tokku ni itte shimatta.
The bus left long ago.
