V-ru / V-ta + とおり / N + のとおり / N + どおり💡Usage
Used to express that an action or situation occurs exactly as thought, heard, seen, or according to a standard.
📚Examples
先生が教えたとおりに、やってみてください。
Sensei ga oshieta toori ni, yatte mite kudasai.
Please try to do it exactly as the teacher taught.
計画どおり、万事順調に進んでいます。
Keikaku doori, banji junchou ni susunde imasu.
Everything is progressing smoothly according to plan.
私が言ったとおりになったでしょう。
Watashi ga itta toori ni natta deshou.
It turned out exactly as I said, didn't it?
地図のとおりに行けば、迷うことはありません。
Chizu no toori ni ikeba, mayou koto wa arimasen.
If you go according to the map, you won't get lost.
