V-ru + ところ / V-te iru + ところ / V-ta + ところ💡Usage
Used to emphasize the exact timing of an action: about to happen, currently happening, or just finished.
📚Examples
今、家を出るところです。
Ima, ie wo deru tokoro desu.
I'm just about to leave the house now.
今、ご飯を食べているところです。
Ima, gohan wo tabete iru tokoro desu.
I'm in the middle of eating a meal now.
たった今、駅に着いたところです。
Tatta ima, eki ni tsuita tokoro desu.
I have just arrived at the station.
これから勉強するところです。
Kore kara benkyou suru tokoro desu.
I am just about to study now.
会議が始まるところだ。急ごう。
Kaigi ga hajimaru tokoro da. Isogou.
The meeting is about to start. Let's hurry.
電話しようと思っていたところへ、彼からかかってきた。
Denwa shiyou to omotte ita tokoro e, kare kara kakatte kita.
