V-ta + ところ💡Usage
Expresses that after doing something, a certain result was obtained or something was realized.
📚Examples
先生に相談したところ、快く引き受けてくださった。
Sensei ni soudan shita tokoro, kokoroyoku hikiukete kudasatta.
When I consulted with the teacher, he kindly accepted.
調べてみたところ、意外な事実が分かった。
Shirabete mita tokoro, igai na jijitsu ga wakatta.
Upon investigation, I discovered an unexpected fact.
病院で検査したところ、どこも悪くなかった。
Byouin de kensa shita tokoro, doko mo warukunakatta.
After being examined at the hospital, it turned out nothing was wrong.
電話してみたところ、彼はもう出かけた後だった。
Denwa shite mita tokoro, kare wa mou dekaketa ato datta.
When I tried calling him, he had already left.
