221. やら～やら : Such things as... and....

N / V-ru + やら + N / V-ru + やら💡Usage
Used to list things or actions, often implying that there are many of them or they are overwhelming.
📚Examples
帰国前は、荷物の整理やら挨拶回りやらで忙しい。
Kikokumae wa, nimotsu no seiri yara aisatsumawari yara de isogashii.
Before returning home, I'm busy with things like organizing luggage and making farewell visits.
机の上は、本やらノートやらでいっぱいだ。
Tsukue no ue wa, hon yara nooto yara de ippai da.
The desk is full of things like books and notebooks.
試験の前日は、不安やら緊張やらで眠れなかった。
Shiken no zenjitsu wa, fuan yara kinchou yara de nemurenakatta.
The night before the exam, I couldn't sleep due to things like anxiety and tension.
あの子は泣くやらわめくやらで、手がつけられない。
Ano ko wa naku yara wameku yara de, te ga tsukerarenai.
That child is crying and screaming so much that I can't do anything with them.
合格したときは、嬉しいやら驚くやらで涙が出た。
Goukaku shita toki wa, ureshii yara odoroku yara de namida ga deta.
When I passed, I cried from both joy and surprise.
部屋を掃除したら、ゴミやら古い雑誌やらがたくさん出てきた。
Heya wo souji shitara, gomi yara furui zasshi yara ga takusan detekita.
When I cleaned the room, a lot of trash and old magazines came out.
今日は雨やら風やらで、外出する気にならない。
Kyou wa ame yara kaze yara de, gaishutsu suru ki ni naranai.
With the rain and wind today, I don't feel like going out.
彼女は歌うやら踊るやら、とても楽しそうだ。
Kanojo wa utau yara odoru yara, totemo tanoshisou da.
She is singing and dancing and seems to be having a great time.
あの先生は厳しいやら優しいやら、よくわからない。
Ano sensei wa kibishii yara yashashii yara, yoku wakaranai.
I can't quite tell if that teacher is strict or kind.
仕事やら家事やらで、自分の時間が全くない。
Shigoto yara kaji yara de, jibun no jikan ga mattaku nai.
With work and housework, I have no time for myself at all.
