228. せずに済む / ずに済む : Managed without / Didn't have to....

V-nai (bỏ nai) + ずに済む (する -> せずに済む)💡Usage
Used to express that a certain action or event was avoided, usually something unpleasant or troublesome.
📚Examples
雨が止んだので、傘をささずに済んだ。
Ame ga yanda node, kasa wo sasazu ni sunda.
The rain stopped, so I saved myself from having to use an umbrella.
友達が貸してくれたので、本を買わずに済んだ。
Tomodachi ga kashite kureta node, hon wo kawazu ni sunda.
Since my friend lent it to me, I didn't have to buy the book.
手術せずに済んだのは、本当に良かった。
Shujutsu sezu ni sunda no wa, hontou ni yokatta.
It was really good that I didn't have to undergo surgery.
早めに家を出たので、遅刻せずに済んだ。
