Expresses uncertain conjecture. "Maybe...", "Perhaps...".
📚Examples
空がこんなに真っ暗になっているので、もしかすると夕方から大雨が降るかもしれない。
Sora ga konna ni makkura ni natte iru node, moshika suruto yuugata kara ooame ga furu kamo shirenai.
Since the sky has gotten so dark, perhaps it might rain heavily from the evening.
彼は約束の時間になっても連絡が取れないので、もしかしたら今日は来ないかもしれない。
Kare wa yakusoku no jikan ni natte mo renraku ga torenai node, moshikashitara kyou wa konai kamo shirenai.
Since I cannot contact him even though it is the appointment time, perhaps he might not come today.
この計算結果はいつもと少し違う気がするから、もしかすると途中で式が間違っているかもしれない。
Kono keisan kekka wa itsumo to sukoshi chigau ki ga suru kara, moshika suruto tochuu de shiki ga machigatte iru kamo shirenai.
