Turns adjectives into nouns indicating degree. "Degree of...", "-ness".

Fujisan no takasa wa sanzen nanahyaku nanajuuroku meetoru da sou desu ga, jissai ni nobotte miru to sono hakuryoku ni odorokasaremasu.
