Expresses indefinite period of time. "For a while", "A moment", "Long time (no see)".

駅の改札で友達と待ち合わせをしているので、彼が来るまでしばらくここで待っています。
Eki no kaisatsu de tomodachi to machiawase wo shite iru node, kare ga kuru made shibaraku koko de matte imasu.
I am meeting a friend at the station ticket gate, so I will wait here for a while until he comes.
昔の会社の同僚と街で偶然会って、「しばらくですね。お元気ですか」と挨拶した。
