Sentence (plain form) + ということだ💡Usage
Conveys hearsay or conclusion. "I heard that...", "It means that...".

ニュースによると、明日の天気は大雨で強い風が吹くということだ。
Nyuusu ni yoru to, ashita no tenki wa ooame de tsuyoi kaze ga fuku to iu koto da.
