25. 得る : Can / Is possible.

V-masu (bỏ ます) + 得る (える/うる)💡Usage
Used to express the possibility of something happening (not for individual ability).
📚Examples
将来、人間が火星に住むこともあり得る。
Shourai, ningen ga kasei ni sumu koto mo arieru.
It is possible that humans will live on Mars in the future.
その可能性はあり得ます。
Sono kanousei wa arie masu.
That possibility is plausible.
あり得ないことが起きた。
Arienai koto ga okita.
Something impossible happened.
考え得る限りの手は尽くした。
Kangaeuru kagiri no te wa tsukushita.
I have tried every possible means I could think of.
そんな失礼な態度は、あり得ない。
Sonna shitsurei na taido wa, arienai.
Such a rude attitude is unacceptable.
事故はいつでも起こり得る。
Jiko wa itsu demo okori uru.
Accidents can happen at any time.
彼の成功も期待し得る。
Kare no seikou mo kitai shi uru.
We can also expect his success.
解決し得ない問題はない。
Kaiketsu shienai mondai wa nai.
There is no problem that cannot be solved.
納得の得ない説明だ。
Nattoku no enai setsumei da.
It is an explanation that cannot be accepted.
病気が再発することも考え得る。
Byouki ga saihatsu suru koto mo kangaeuru.
It is possible that the disease might recur.
