Used to confirm a scheduled plan or rule/custom.
📚Examples
この部屋ではタバコを吸ってはいけないことになっている。
Kono heya dewa tabako wo sutte wa ikenai koto ni natte iru.
It is a rule that you cannot smoke in this room.
明日、彼と会うことになっている。
Ashita, kare to au koto ni natte iru.
I am scheduled to meet him tomorrow.
授業中は日本語を話すことになっている。
Jugyouchuu wa Nihongo wo hanasu koto ni natte iru.
We are supposed to speak Japanese during class.
60点以上が合格ということになっている。
Rokujuuten ijou ga goukaku to iu koto ni natte iru.
The rule is that 60 points or more is a passing grade.
来月、転勤することになっている。
