150. せっかく : With trouble / At great pains / Special.

せっかく + V / せっかくの + N💡Usage
Expresses regret when effort is wasted, or appreciation for a rare opportunity. Often used with "noni" or "dakara".
📚Examples
せっかく来たのに、店は閉まっていた。
Sekkaku kita noni, mise wa shimatte ita.
I came all this way, but the shop was closed.
せっかくの休日なのに、雨でどこへも行けない。
Sekkaku no kyuujitsu na noni, ame de doko e mo ikenai.
It's a rare holiday, but I can't go anywhere because of the rain.
せっかく作った料理が冷めてしまった。
Sekkaku tsukutta ryouri ga samete shimatta.
The food I took the trouble to make has gone cold.
せっかくのチャンスだから、挑戦してみよう。
Sekkaku no chansu dakara, chousen shite miyou.
It's a rare chance, so let's give it a try.
せっかく誘ってもらったのに、行けなくて残念だ。
Sekkaku sasotte moratta noni, ikenakute zannen da.
It's a pity I can't go even though you kindly invited me.
せっかくの旅行が台無しだ。
Sekkaku no ryokou ga dainashi da.
The trip I was looking forward to is ruined.
せっかく準備したのだから、楽しみましょう。
Sekkaku junbi shita no dakara, tanoshimishou.
We took the trouble to prepare, so let's enjoy it.
せっかくですが、今回はご遠慮させていただきます。
Sekkaku desu ga, konkai wa goenryo sasete itadakimasu.
It is kind of you, but I will decline this time.
せっかく覚えた単語を忘れてしまった。
Sekkaku oboeta tango wo wasurete shimatta.
I forgot the words I took the trouble to memorize.
せっかく天気がいいから、散歩に行こう。
Sekkaku tenki ga ii kara, sanpo ni ikou.
