Used to explain the circumstances or reasons for an outcome. Formal, often business context, at end of sentence.
📚Examples
このような事情で、変更をお願いする次第です。
Kono you na jijou de, henkou wo onegai suru shidai desu.
Due to these circumstances, I am requesting a change.
日頃の感謝を込めて、贈り物をする次第です。
Higoro no kansha wo komete, okurimono wo suru shidai desu.
I am sending a gift with my daily gratitude.
今回の件について、ご報告する次第です。
Konkai no ken ni tsuite, gohoukoku suru shidai desu.
