そういえば + 文💡Usage
Used when something you just heard or saw reminds you of something related.
📚Examples
そういえば、彼は昨日休んでいたね。
Souieba, kare wa kinou yasunde ita ne.
Now that you mention it, he was away yesterday.
「カレー食べたい。」「そういえば、駅前に新しい店ができたよ。」
Karee tabetai. - Souieba, ekimae ni atarashii mise ga dekita yo.
"I want to eat curry." "Speaking of which, a new shop opened in front of the station."
そういえば、田中さんに会った？
Souieba, Tanaka-san ni atta?
By the way, did you see Mr. Tanaka?
「雨降ってきた。」「そういえば、洗濯物出したままだ。」
Ame futte kita. - Souieba, sentakumono dashita mama da.
"It started raining." "Talking of which, I left the laundry out."
そういえば、お土産、渡すの忘れてた。
Souieba, omiyage, watasu no wasurete ta.
Now that you mention it, I forgot to give you the souvenir.
「北海道に行きます。」「そういえば、僕も昔行ったことあるよ。」
Hokkaido ni ikimasu. - Souieba, boku mo mukashi itta koto aru yo.

Souieba, ano mise, kyou wa oyasumi datta.
Now that you mention it, that shop was closed today.
そういえば、来週は会議があるね。
Souieba, raishuu wa kaigi ga aru ne.
Speaking of which, there's a meeting next week.
「鍵がない。」「そういえば、机の上に置いてあったよ。」
Kagi ga nai. - Souieba, tsukue no ue ni oite atta yo.
"I can't find the keys." "Now that you mention it, they were on the desk."
そういえば、明日は彼の誕生日だ。
Souieba, ashita wa kare no tanjoubi da.
