V-masu (bỏ masu) + そうにない💡Usage
Expresses that something is unlikely to happen or has little prospect of occurring based on the current situation.
📚Examples
雨はまだやみそうにない。
Ame wa mada yamisou ni nai.
It doesn't look like the rain will stop yet.
この仕事は今日中に終わりそうにない.
Kono shigoto wa kyoujuu ni owarisou ni nai.
This work is unlikely to be finished by the end of today.
彼は約束を守りそうにない。
Kare wa yakusoku wo mamorisou ni nai.
He doesn't seem like he will keep his promise.
景気はよくなりそうにない。
Keiki wa yokunarisou ni nai.
The economy doesn't seem likely to improve.
今の実力では、試験に合格できそうにない。
Ima no jitsuryoku de wa, shiken ni goukaku dekisou ni nai.
