V-stem + そうもない💡Usage
Used to emphasize that something is almost impossible to happen according to the speaker's judgment.
📚Examples
この雨は、まだ止みそうもない。
Kono ame wa, mada yamisou mo nai.
This rain doesn't look like it will stop anytime soon.
締め切りに間に合いそうもないので、延長を願い出た。
Shimeki ni maniaisou mo nai node, enchou wo negaideta.
It seems unlikely I will meet the deadline, so I asked for an extension.
今の実力では、優勝できそうもない。
Ima no jitsuryoku de wa, yuushou dekisou mo nai.
With my current ability, it's very unlikely I will win.
彼に連絡がつかなくて、いつ会えるか分かりそうもない。
Kare ni renraku ga tsukanakute, itsu aeru ka wakarisou mo nai.
I can't get in touch with him, so it doesn't seem like I'll know when we can meet.
