Used to abruptly change the subject to something else.
📚Examples
「今日はいい天気ですね。」「それはそうと、お仕事のほうはどうですか。」
Kyou wa ii tenki desu ne. - Sore wa souto, oshigoto no hou wa dou desu ka.
"It's a nice day today." "By the way, how is your work going?"
「会議は終わりました。」「それはそうと、次の予定は何だっけ？」
Kaigi wa owarimashita. - Sore wa souto, tsugi no yotei wa nan dakke?
"The meeting is over." "By the way, what was the next schedule?"
「美味しかったね。」「それはそうと、明日の持ち物は何？」
Oishikatta ne. - Sore wa souto, ashita no mochimono wa nani?
"That was delicious." "By the way, what do we need to bring tomorrow?"
