Expresses strong contrast or disappointment. Similar to "sore demo" but more emotional.

一生懸命勉強した。それなのに、試験に落ちた。
Isshoukenmei benkyou shita. Sore nanoni, shiken ni ochita.
I studied hard. And yet, I failed the exam.
約束したのに。それなのに、来なかった。
Yakusoku shita noni. Sore nanoni, konakatta.
You promised. And yet, you didn't come.
彼女は優しい。それなのに、嫌われている。
Kanojo wa yasashii. Sore nanoni, kirawarete iru.
She is kind. And yet, she is disliked.
何度も注意した。それなのに、また同じミスをした。
Nando mo chuui shita. Sore nanoni, mata onaji misu wo shita.
