Used to express an action that happens immediately without any delay.

事故の知らせを聞いて、直ちに現場へ向かった。
Jiko no shirase wo kiite, tadachi ni genba e mukatta.
Upon hearing news of the accident, I headed to the scene immediately.
不備が見つかった場合は、直ちにご連絡ください。
