Used to make a hypothetical assumption about a situation or condition, leading to an action, judgment, or question.
📚Examples
もし、もう一度人生をやり直せるとしたら、何になりたいですか。
Moshi, mou ichido jinsei wo yarinaoseru to shitara, nani ni naritai desu ka.
Assuming you could start your life over, what would you want to be?
宝くじで1億円当たったとしたら、どうしますか。
Takarakuji de ichi-oku en atatta to shitara, dou shimasu ka.
If you won 100 million yen in the lottery, what would you do?
彼が犯人だとしたら、証拠があるはずだ。
Kare ga hannin da to shitara, shouko ga aru hazu da.
If he were the culprit, there should be evidence.
本当だとしたら、大変なことになりますよ。
Hontou da to shitara, taihen na koto ni narimasu yo.
If that were true, it would become a serious matter.
明日雨が降るとしたら、遠足は中止ですね。
