Used to express that even if a certain situation were to occur, it would not change the position or action in the second part of the sentence.

反対されたとしても、私は自分の道を行く。
Hantai sareta to shitemo, watashi wa jibun no michi wo iku.
Even if I am opposed, I will go my own way.
雨が降ったとしても、試合は行われます。
Ame ga futta to shitemo, shiai wa okonawaremasu.
Even if it rains, the match will be held.
どんなに難しかったとしても、諦めない。
Donna ni muzukashikatta to shitemo, akiramenai.
