Expresses completed action (more formal than "もう"). "Already...", "By now...".

会場に到着したときには、有名な歌手のコンサートはすでに終わっていて、誰もいなかった。
Kaijou ni touchaku shita toki ni wa, yuumei na kashu no konsaato wa sude ni owatte ite, dare mo inakatta.
When I arrived at the venue, the famous singer's concert had already ended, and there was no one there.
その新しいスマートフォンが発売されたというニュースは、昨日すでにテレビで見て知っている。
Sono atarashii sumaatofon ga hatsubai sareta to iu nyuusu wa, kinou sude ni terebi de mite shitte iru.
As for the news that the new smartphone was released, I already saw it on TV yesterday and know about it.
