Lesson 4: What time is it now?

Used to ask and answer about the current time.

• Ima: Now.

• ～ji: ~ O'clock.

• ～fun/pun: ~ Minute(s).

Used to ask what day of the week it is.

The polite form of a verb. Used for current actions, future actions, or universal truths.

• Vmasen: Negative (Present/Future).

• Vmashita: Past.

• Vmasen deshita: Past negative.

The particle "ni" indicates the specific point in time when an action occurs (used with numeric time).

Indicates the starting point (Kara) and ending point (Made) of time or location.

The particle "to" connects two nouns.

Used to seek agreement or confirm information from the listener.

Used to ask for a phone number.

Note:

• Read the phone number digit by digit.

• For long phone numbers, separate the groups by using the word no.
