Used to express that the level/degree of something is equivalent to the preceding noun.

プロ並みの腕前を持つ。
Puro nami no udemae wo motsu.
Possess a skill level on par with a professional.
この冬は北国並みの寒さだ。
Kono fuyu wa kitaguni nami no samusa da.
This winter is as cold as the northern country.
彼は子供並みのわがままを言う。
