文 + だって💡Usage
Used in casual conversation to state a reason or justification, often with a defensive tone.
📚Examples
「どうして食べないの？」「だって、お腹がいっぱいなんだもん。」
「Doushite tabenai no?」「Datte, onaka ga ippai na n da mon.」
「Why aren't you eating?」「Because I'm full.」
私だってできるよ。
Watashi datte dekiru yo.
Even I can do it.
だって、忙しかったんだよ。
Datte, isogashikatta n da yo.
But I was busy!
子供だって知っている。
Kodomo datte shitte iru.
Even a child knows that.
だって、知らなかったんだもの。
Datte, shiranakatta n da mono.
But I didn't know!
いくら好きだって、毎食は無理だよ。
Ikura suki datte, maishoku wa muri da yo.
No matter how much I like it, eating it every meal is impossible.
「行かないの？」「だって、雨だよ。」
「Ikanai no?」「Datte, ame da yo.」
「Aren't you going?」「But it's raining.」

Nisemono datte ii yo. Kirei nara.
It's okay even if it's a fake, as long as it's pretty.
