Used when providing a hypothetical situation to make inferences or express opinions from it.
📚Examples
もしそれが本当だとすれば、大変なことになる。
Moshi sore ga hontou da to sureba, taihen na koto ni naru.
If that were true, it would be a serious matter.
新しい家を建てるとすれば、庭の広いところが良い。
Atarashii ie wo tateru to sureba, niwa no hiroi tokoro ga yoi.
If I were to build a new house, I'd like a place with a big garden.
犯人が内部の人間だとすれば、動機は何だろうか。
Hannin ga naibu no ningen da to sureba, douki wa nan darou ka.
