Verb-nai + と💡Usage
Casual spoken form of "なければならない". Expresses obligation, must do. "Must...", "Have to...".
📚Examples
もうこんな時間だ、早く行かないと終電に間に合わなくなる。
Mou konna jikan da, hayaku ikanai to shuuden ni maniawanaku naru.
It is already this late; if I do not go quickly, I won't make it for the last train.
明日は大事な試験があるから、今夜は徹夜で勉強しないと。
Ashita wa daiji na shiken ga aru kara, konya wa tetsuya de benkyou shinai to.
Since there is an important exam tomorrow, I have to stay up all night studying tonight.
会議の時間が迫っているから、急がないと絶対に間に合わないよ。
Kaigi no jikan ga sematte iru kara, isoganai to zettai ni maniawanai yo.
The meeting time is approaching, so if we don't hurry we absolutely won't make it in time.
最近働きすぎだから、週末くらいはゆっくり寝ないと疲れが取れないよ。
